Certification through First Aid International

 First Aid at Work

(HSE Regulated)

This is a three day /18 hour course. The syllabus covers:

Day One: As the content of the Emergency First Aid at Work. Plus Instruction on adult anatomy, psychology,respiratory system, and circulatory system. First aid kits, accident books, health & safety regulations, COSHH, RIDDOR.

 

Day Two: Illness and injury assessment, heart problems, stroke, allergic reactions,, asthma, poisoning, diabetice emergencies, epileptic seizures, fractures and dislocations, head injuries, chest injuries, neck & back injuries, lifting and moving, wounds and bandaging, eye injuries, exposure to heat, exposure to cold, burns and scalds, electrical injuries.Ongoing practical assessment

 

Day Three. Course re-cap.emphasis on practical skills practice. Skills assessment by HSE aproved assessors. Multiple choice knowledge assessment  paper invigilated by HSE approved assessors.

All practical skills must be demonstrated. 80% correct knowledge answers to pass and receive certificate

 Emergency First Aid at Work

This is a one day/6 hour course. The syllabus covers:

  • Scene Assessment and Barriers .
  • Primary Assessment
  • One Rescuer CPR (Adult Only)
  • Choking Management
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Shock Management
  • Continuing Care
  • Minor Injuries
  • First Aid Kit
  • Accident Book

 Ongoing practical asssessment

10 question multiple choice test. Need to achieve 8/10 correct answers to pass and receive certificate

 

Emergency Aid as above with in house attendance certificate only (not HSE regulated)

Paediatric Emergency First Aid

This is a oneday/6 hour course.

The syllabus covers:

  • Scene assessment and barriers
  • Primary Assessment
  •    One rescuer CPR (Infant/child/adult)
  • Choking Management
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Shock Management
  • Continuing Care Cycle 
  • First Aid Kit
  • Accident Book 

Ongoing practical assessment.

10 question mmultiple choice test. need to achieve 8/10 corect answers to pass and receive certificate.

 

 

Paediatric First Aid

This is a two day/12 hour course.

The syllabus covers: Content of the one day Paediatric  course plus:-

  • Illness assesment, respiratory problems, allergic reactions,poisoning,diabetic emergencies,seizures, meningitis, sickle cell anaemia.

  • Motor Vehicle Safety

  • Injury assessment, spinal injuries, head injuries, fractures and dislocations, woumds and bandaging,eye injuries,fire prevention,burn prevention and care, exposure to heat, exposure to cold 

  •  Ongoing practical assessment.

 10 question multiple choice test. Candidates need to achieve 8/10 correct answers to pass and receive certificate
