HEALTH & SAFETY

CIEH Level 2 Award in HEALTH & SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE 

This is a one day/8 hour course. The syllabus covers:

  • Health & safety law   
  • Work related health issues
  • Work related safety issues  
  • Welfare at work  
  • Workplace equipment
  • Risk assessment
  • Manual handling
  • Hazardous substances  
  • Ergonomics and workstation design
  • Working at height .
  • Transport and vehicles
  • Noise and vibration

At the end of the course candidates will sit a 30 question multiple choice exam.

20 correct answers must be achieved in order to pass the exam and receive a certificate

The exam papers are marked by the CIEH 

CIEH STRESS AWARENESS

This is a half day/4 hour course. The syllabus covers:

  • Definitions of stress
  • Stress as an occupational hazard
  • Identification of basic workplace stressors
  • Responsibilities imposed under UK legislation

At the end of the course the candidates will be assessed by means of a written self assessment based on their  own work practices.

The asssignment must be completed to receive the certificate.

It is recommended that candidates already hold the health & Safety in the Workplace certiificate.

 

CIEH PRINCIPLES OF MANUAL HANDLING  

 This is a half day/4 hour course. The syllabus covers:

  • The process of manual handling.    
  • Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause them.
  • Manual handling assesment and control options.
  • Responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations.

At the end of the course candidates must sit a 20 question multiple choice exam of which they must achieve 80% correct answers to pass the exam and receive a certificate.  

It is recommended that candidates already hold the health & Safety in the Workplace Certificate.

CIEH PRINCIPLES  OF COSHH

This is a half day/4 hour course. The syllubus covers:

  • Definition and types of substances hazardous to  health in the workplace. 
  • Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes.
  • COSHH assessments and control options.
  • Responsibilities imposed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations 1999.

At the end of the course candidates must sit a 20 question multiple choice exam of which they must achieve 80% correct answers to pass the exam and receive a certificate.  

It is recommended that candidates already hold the Health & Safety in the Workplace certificate.
